This site offers a growing directory of Linux related information sure to enhance your knowledge of the subject.
Organized by category, the Linux related articles and tutorials found in this directory date back to 1997 and include thousands of articles found nowhere else on the web. The goal of Web Articles directory is to provide you with the best in online articles, sharing useful information and advice for all web users.
I should mention too, that this growing directory isn't limited to Linux articles, but it in fact houses articles on a wide scope of interests.... from home and family to history and science, you'll find a lot of variety in the types of topics covered. You won't get bored here, that's for sure!

Death by Blogging
Yes, it's true. Apparently blogging can be hazardous to your health. The luxury of working from home might also be to blame... for some individuals, working from home means never doing anything else (other than work). Don't fall into that trap.
According to an article on MadConomist.com, bloggers who blog for a living have been known to suffer from heart failure, weight gain or loss, sleep related problems, and exhaustion. I can share from my own experience (my blogging habits don't match those of a professional by any means) that it can be hard to step away from your pc, even for a few minutes... even when your stomach is growling, your bladder is full, your phone is ringing and your son is playing in the sink. Yes... at the very least it's addicting. When you're actually making money, or have been seeing in increase in profit, it gets even harder to walk away. I've had some good months, some bad months too... but when I feel like I'm on a roll I definitely work for it... or should I say pay for it?
Consider the nature of blogging for profit. You're often paid by the post and depending on what your niche is, it can be a very competitive market. If your a news or celebrity blogger for example, you pretty much have to be on top of things round the clock, being the first to post about a breaking news story is vital to your blogging career, but it's not even enough to be the first, you have the added pressure of being the best. Must write well, must be engaging, must be entertaining, must be accurate, must be quick! It really doesn't surprise me that a blogger's health can be compromised by that sort of pressure.
So, if you're a blogger, just remember to relax once in awhile. Take advantage of Blogger's new auto-publish feature... maybe pull in a late night here and there and then take off a day or two each week. Come on... it's ok, you can do it! If you feel like your blogging career is creating too much stress for you, consider writing about a topic that will allow you to slow down your pace a bit and give you the time you need to focus more on your writing technique, skill and creativity and less time stressing over the clock.
Have fun~

Customized Visa Gift Cards to Promote Your Business
Oh, this one has me excited. I'm not one to give gift cards all that often, but Gift Card Lab has come up with a very personal type of Visa gift card. What I mean is, you can select the picture on the card, and you're not limited to an on-site directory, but you can literally upload your own photo to the card!
There are so many practical applications for this, including but not limited to using these cards to promote your business. Imagine your company logo on the front of your Visa card? Would that be incredible or what? Imagine sending out visa gift cards with your business logo, as a client thank-you. What a great way to say thanks while at the same time reminding those important clients you're still there and open for business.
Consider too the possibilities within your own family when it comes to birthdays and traditional gift-giving holidays. Just imagine giving your dad a Visa gift card with his grandchildren on the cover, or giving your sister a gift card with a photo of her favorite family pet as a child. What a surprise, right? You bet!
The cards work just like any Visa gift card would so they'll be able to keep the card once the allowed gift amount has been reached.
There are no card minimums either. You can buy 1 or 1,001. In the past companies have been required to order scads of cards at a time, meaning small businesses and freelance workers would never be able to take advantage of a personalized card. Thanks to Corporate Gift Cards we can now portray the same professional image as those big corporations. It's just too cool!

Did you know you can set Blogger to auto-publish?
I didn't, until today. I realize that much of the professional blogging community is set on WordPress and yes, they offer a great platform, but I'm finding more and more reasons to stick to an old favorite... Blogger. I have fewer problems maintaining, even tweaking my blogspot blogs than I did with WP. Notice I said did. Last week I terminated both my WP blogs as they were draining too much time away from my family and producing minimal results at best. What was the point in that?
I'm a simple kind of gal and Blogger fits me like a good pair of walking shoes. It gets me where I want to go and I don't have to spend one red cent on hosting. If you're a novice like myself, Blogger just has to be the most user friendly blogging platform available. Now that you can post date and auto-publish on Blogger, you'll have one less reason to switch to WP. Not that WP is bad, it just wasn't good for me.
If you didn't know you could post date and auto-publish, don't feel bad. I suspect this is the result of a blogger upgrade that is only now starting to get the attention it so rightly deserves. I mean... I want to think that anyway, since I didn't know a thing about it until today! lol
I learned the how to's from Link & Blog this morning and will be experimenting with it later today. If you'd like to learn more, follow that link and let Tammara enlighten you!
Isn't it exciting?
Ok, so this isn't a job posting, but how many of us blog for profit? A lot of us. So, I felt this was relevant! ; )

Phone Interpreter -Working From Home
Job Title: Language Line Services Over-the-Phone Interpreter
I thought this was an interesting job posting, basically you're assisting a limited English speaker to communicate to a client. That client could be a police department, a bank, an insurance company, even 911. As with any customer service position conducted via phone, you'll need a quiet work environment in order to consider applying for this position.
The cool aspect of this job is you're not required to possess a specialized background. The only real criteria is that you're a native speaker (or near native speaker) of the English language and one non-English language, possess a good memory, and have good customer service skills.
Visit the links in the right sidebar at Language Line (see link above) to learn more about job requirements and to apply for this position.
I found this lead through the Rat Race Rebellion.
