Introduce Your Kids to MagNext Virtual!

Your kids will love this online virtual world of game playing, where they can invite friends to hang out and chat, play one another and earn points along the way. The longer they stay, the more points they earn which they can then use to buy special moves including action skills and paint jobs as well as awesome gear. They can also make new friends in this virtual world, sharing and creating profiles and having a lot of fun! The more people they have signed up to play against, naturally the more fun they'll have.

They can register with MagNext without cost and play as long as they wish (or you allow)! I'm there now giving it a shot just to see what it's all about and wouldn't you know they have me racing a MagNext car. I accelerate as I hit the yellow racing lines and slow to a snails pace if I hit an obstacle, which I just did! lol I can keep playing this game, or exit back to the virtual world and do something else. So, now I'm going to Icoaster Madness where I have to really pay close attention to the track! If I don't select the right shape to complete what's missing, it's down I go! Yikes indeed! The funky techy music is fun and upbeat too.

Here's my attempt at a screenshot of the Icoaster Madenss game. It's my favorite so far! I feel a bit like a kid when I'm playing it. Shhh, don't tell anyone that I'm really 37! How funny is this? My kids are in school and I'm home playing MagNext Virtual! Guess I'll have something to share when they return home. :o) In the meantime, I'm going to continue playing and you should too! After all, parents do have a responsibility of testing things out beforehand, am I right? Now, go have some fun!

Online Tutoring Jobs

I was just compiling a list of online tutoring services for a teacher friend and thought why not share here? If you have a certified teaching degree and are looking to work from home, this might be a good place to start.

Please be sure to do your homework. I can't speak for the legitimacy of these sites. It's always a good idea to check with the BBB and to do online searches to check for problems before applying for any online job. Also... be careful... although the last two links on this list may very well be on the up and up, they do ask for money. I'd be very careful before paying anyone for this kind of job placement service.

Dolphins Blowing Bubbles? Something You Just Have to See!

We all know dolphins are beautiful, graceful, friendly and fun, but did you know they could blow bubbles? lol Do you even believe me? I bet you're thinking I've completely lost it, but I have the proof right here in this ever so educational and thrilling blog post! By the way, I'm so excited to have found this, I'm half tempted to pull my kiddos out of bed and drag them to the computer. Maybe I have lost it? lol Ok, I'll let them sleep, but believe me they'll be watching this before pancakes and sausage hit the stove!

Like so many of us, I've loved dolphins since I was a young child and yet didn't know they had such a cool way of entertaining themselves and anyone watching with the help of a little air and might I say, a lot of talent. They simply force air through their blow hole, but with a twist... as if by magic, they somehow weave a ring. The air is somehow spun in such a way as to form this perfect circle which they then chase with their noses, catching it as if playing a game. What I'm now ever so curious to know is this... have they learned this while in captivity as a way to pass the time, or if this is something all dolphins do?

The video I just viewed is posted below. I really want to show this magnificent find with my readers. You'll want to bring your kids to the computer... your husband too, this is something that will excite and amuse the entire family. This footage originally aired on World News with Charles Gibson and was filmed at SeaWorld.

I'm a little bummed that I didn't get to witness this wonder first hand while we were on our own SeaWorld visit in November. We did watch the dolphins for quite some time, but didn't know to watch for this! We're not going back to SeaWorld for a couple years, but you betcha I'll be watching for it when we do! Oh, this is just so cool!

Focus Group Frustrations

Very recently I wrote about where you lovely ladies could track down focus groups in your area of the United States... if you missed that post, the link is www.greenbook.com. Wouldn't you know that this week I have had a total of 3 calls (screeners) and failed them all! lol This is unusual in that I usually only get maybe a call a month and sure, I usually don't qualify for more than half of the focus groups I'm called about, but to have had three chances in one week and to not qualify for any at all??? What are the odds? lol

I have registered with 4 groups in my area and have discovered that very often more than 1 marketing company is conducting surveys and focus groups for the same company or product... so for example this week two of my calls started out by asking me what my favorite radio station is. I answered both calls the same, since I always provide honest answers and ultimately lost both opps. Thing is, you really don't always know what they caller is looking for, so there's no reason not to provide an honest answer. Additionally, they are often looking for a variety of responses in order to provide a more rounded group... so I could have potentially qualified for a spot, had my answer matched a slot they needed to fill.

In any case, have you done your homework yet and found a marketing firm or two in your area to register with? Sure can't hurt. Usually you're paid $75 or better for your time. Not bad and totally worth a few no's just for the hope of a couple yes's down the line... wouldn't you say?

My Telecommuting Dreams

Sometimes I feel like trying to find the perfect opportunity to work at home doesn't really exist, but then I have to stop and remind myself that while I'm not rolling in the dough, I'm not struggling either. I've been surviving just fine since having left the work force 7 years ago and while my bank account doesn't look I thought it would, the change I make here and there does add up to be just enough. Maybe that's all I need? I should mention that my husband is a working professional and he's our primary source of stability. I'm more the "mad money" maker... and even that is really just the "mad money" for a mommy and occasionally the kids! lol

So anyway, I'm always looking at what other women are doing from home... trying to decide what might be "time better spent". My newest interest... something I'm still tossing around, is the possibility of signing up with Send Out Cards. This is a really cool tool (and earning opportunity) that allows the forgetful, lazy, and yet caring and thrifty individual to send out real cards, from their own personal computer, with their own handwriting font, their own uploaded photos (should they choose), without spending anymore (usually less) than what they'd spend on a card at the store. Plus, no trips to the Post Office... who has time for that anyway? The selection of cards is vast and the ease of sending out cards to friends and potential clients, is just too tempting!

So if I do go for the SOC opportunity, you'll all be hearing about it here. I'm really digging the idea, but don't have the money to invest in the opportunity just yet. I think I'd be perfect for this opportunity... seriously, and I don't say that often!

Ok, enough for now. I have work to be doing. I'll be sharing more personal info with you all soon!
