Signed my first distributor for my new business!

I just signed up for a new business opportunity a few weeks ago and last Thursday signed my first distributor! Pretty cool and now that I have one person under my wing, I'll be able to learn how to coach and lead to the extent that she will require my assistance. I'm hoping to find another 7 business builders this year, and a couple dozen retail accounts.

This new business is a lot of fun because I get to send out REAL cards as a marketing tool, but the bigger picture for me is that I'm able to share my heart with everyone I know. Not just for obvious occasions like birthdays and anniversaries, but also to send out congratulation cards when someone gets promoted, or cards of encouragement when someone is layed off. There is always a reason to send out a card. My guess is nearly any day of the year, someone you know and love could use a pick me up or a pat on the back.

Since joining this new venture just 3 1/2 weeks ago I've sent out dozens of cards, but the reaction I received in the mail today was the most touching. A friend of mine who lives out of state and who has been struggling with divorce, a troubled new boyfriend, and raising kids on a part-time income just filed for bankruptcy. The last couple of months she felt her world was crashing down, so for the last 3 weeks I'd been showering her with cards. Today I received a letter from her that brought tears to my eyes. She was so touched that someone was thinking of her enough on a consistent basis, praying for the storm to pass, and sharing encouragement and warm thoughts that her burdens felt lighter. She actually told me that I made a difference! I can't tell you how amazing that is. One of my prayers last year was to be a blessing to everyone around me. That's sometimes hard to do, but today I felt like for at least one friend, I've been just that!

I'm not a great writer, not the best with words, and certainly not Dear Abby, but I have experienced first hand what being real with someone can do. Being real, sending warm thoughts and encouragement through the mail isn't even a task, it's simple, affordable, and even exciting!
